Selene Brightwater is the youngest member of the Sea Spray's crew — a young half-elf who looks more human than elf, with dark hair, pale skin, and striking violet eyes. Selene ran away from a cruel family that had taken her in as little more than a servant. She discovered her wild magic as a child, and the uncontrollable surges only made her captors treat her worse. When she fled, she stowed away aboard the Sea Spray. Captain Reaven was furious when she found the girl — but the more she listened to Selene's story, the softer she became. The crew adopted Selene as their own, and she has been fiercely protected by them ever since.

Gorak is fiercely protective of Selene, treating her like a younger sister. He was one of the first crew members to accept her after Captain Reaven took her in.

Garrick watches over Selene with gruff, paternal concern. He carved her first wand handle and pretends not to worry when her wild magic surges.

Captain of the Sea Spray. Reaven found Selene as a stowaway and took her in. Selene sees her as family and is deeply loyal to her.
