Velinka d'Avenir is a Vistani woman originally of the Tser Pass Vistani and the d'Avenir family. She is the sister of Sorina d'Avenir and aunt of Ezmerelda. When the Stormraven Sisters attacked and wiped out the Tser Pass Vistani at the Druid Clearing in Damara — punishment for betraying Strahd — Velinka was pulled from the wreckage by druids of the Verdant Heart and nursed back to life. She believes all her family perished in the attack and is unaware that her niece Ezmerelda also survived. While recovering among the druids, Velinka experienced prophetic visions of Barovia burning beneath an unblinking red eye. She guided the party through the Devil's Mists to the Gates of Barovia during Session 09, opening the gates with Vistani blood but refusing to enter herself.

Velinka's niece — daughter of Velinka's sister Sorina. Velinka believes all her family died when the Stormraven Sisters destroyed the Tser Pass Vistani at the Druid Clearing in Damara. She is unaware that Ezmerelda survived.
