Mad Mary — born Mary Strazni — is a grief-stricken woman in the Village of Barovia whose daughter Gertruda went missing. She can be heard wailing from her boarded-up townhouse, inconsolable and half-mad with worry. Mary's screams echo through the empty streets, adding to the village's oppressive atmosphere.

Gertruda is Mad Mary's daughter who left to find Castle Ravenloft, driving Mary to madness with grief.

Mary's late husband. Oskander was one of the Skander duplicates of Yuri Skander. He was murdered by Rahadin.

Mary was Yuri's young apprentice before the amulet of wishing created the Skander duplicates. The incident traumatized her and changed her life forever.
