The Abbot is the enigmatic master of the Abbey of Saint Markovia above Krezk. He appears as a serene, handsome man who heals the sick and tends to the abbey's inhabitants — a collection of strange, misshapen creatures he calls mongrelfolk, though the townsfolk of Krezk call them stitches. He radiates an otherworldly calm and speaks of saving Strahd's soul with unsettling certainty.

The Abbot built a flesh golem bride for Strahd, believing this would end Barovia's curse. Strahd was offended by the notion and attacked the Abbey.

The Abbot resides in the Abbey above Krezk, which Baron Krezkov governs. Krezkov does not trust the Abbot but can do little about him.

The Abbot's creation and the being he thinks of as his daughter. He used the body and essence of Ilya Krezkov to create her. He used the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind to restore her after Strahd's attack.

Lady Williams came to the Abbot after Strahd's attack and ordered him to take his followers and attack the Vistani camps.
