Ilyana Kostova is Luna E'Tressa's godmother and a longtime fixture at the Blood of the Vine Inn. A tall, wiry woman in her early 70s who drapes herself in bright scarves, Ilyana was once a singer and dancer among the Tser Hill Vistani. Her voice has gone raspy with age, but she still hums old caravan tunes while she cleans. She claims to have 'second sight' — the ability to sense the presence of evil and read omens in ordinary events. Most dismiss it as superstition, though her warnings have an unsettling habit of proving accurate.

Ilyana is Luna's godmother. She dotes on Luna and followed the family into exile.
