Kolyan Indirovich was the Burgomaster of the Village of Barovia and the father of Ismark and adoptive father of Ireena. A good and honorable man, Kolyan spent his final days barricading his home against Strahd's nightly assaults as the vampire lord came to claim Ireena. The relentless siege broke Kolyan's health and spirit, and he died of a heart attack brought on by fright. His death left his children to face Strahd's wrath alone and set the campaign's events in motion.

Kolyan's adopted daughter. He found her as a young child wandering the Svalich Woods after a dire wolf attack separated her from her biological family. He raised her as his own alongside Ismark.

Kolyan's biological son. Ismark inherited the burden of Burgomaster after Kolyan's death and carries the weight of protecting his sister.

Kolyan wrote a desperate letter pleading for help against Strahd's attacks on his home. Strahd's repeated visits to claim Ireena drove Kolyan to his death from sheer terror and exhaustion.

The village priest who presided over Kolyan's funeral at the church in the Village of Barovia.

Dmitri was a close friend and fellow burgomaster. Kolyan's death was a blow to Dmitri, who saw him as one of the few leaders in Barovia who genuinely cared about his people.
