Ismark Kolyanovich, once known unkindly as 'Ismark the Lesser,' is the son of the late Burgomaster Kolyan Indirovich and Ireena's brother. A capable warrior and a man of honor, Ismark now leads the reformed Village Militia — the Barovian contingent — alongside his old friend Doru. With nearly 75 men and women under their command and Father Donavich's blessing, Ismark has finally stepped out of his ancestor's shadow.

Ismark's adoptive sister. He is desperate to protect her from Strahd and find her a safe haven.

Ismark opposes Strahd and seeks allies to help protect his sister from the vampire lord.

Ismark's old friend. Together they reformed the Village Militia after Doru was healed of his vampirism. Doru commands the foot soldiers under Ismark's leadership.
